Minute Secretary - Governance

Korero mo te turanga - About the role:

Our everyday mahi will be focused around three interconnected delivery areas - ‘Ngatiporoutanga’, ‘Our Heartland, Our Taiao’ and ‘Our Local Level Hapu Leadership and Governance’.

The Board of TRONP is working on a new strategic plan and has a vision for an exciting future.  It is time for Te Runanganui to shift our focus to make sure we protect what makes us Ngati Porou – who we are, how we connect, the state of our whanau and whenua, our rohe and taiao.

  • As part of our shift in focus, we are committed to the following outcomes:
  • Our Heartland is flourishing.
  • We are culturally strong and fluent.

Our hapu are the anchors of our Ngatiporoutanga and haputanga and the everyday kaitiaki of our identity, whanau and taiao.

  • Natis are confident, connected and capable wherever we are.
  • Reciprocity is restored – we all contribute, we all benefit.
  • We are nation builders, as iwi and as citizens.
  • We honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

We are looking for a Minute Secretary with an eye for detail, strong ability to multitask while also practising manaakitanga in all interactions to host and greet.  In addition to being the ‘first friendly’ welcoming face of Te Runanganui o Ngati Porou (TRONP) Governance operations, the Minute Secretary is responsible for providing accurate, timely and succinct records of governance meetings across the Ngati Porou Group.

With one permanent 20-hour part-time position available, based in the beautiful Ruatoria, Tairawhiti – this could be the role you were waiting for to call you home or an experience of a lifetime to live and breathe Ngati Poroutanga right in the heartland.  Nau mai, haere mai - if you have proven experience and the manaaki to contribute to the aspirations and strategic direction of Ngati Porou, then apply with your Cover Letter and Resume, we look forward to hearing from you.
