Whangaia Kete is a dedicated team that provides interventions aimed at enhancing opportunities for mana motuhake for whānau experiencing family harm.
We collaborate closely with the Police and other local iwi, adopting a holistic approach that focuses on the whānau as a whole to prevent offending by both victims and offenders.
Our mission is to build trust and connect whānau with support agencies, empowering them to develop the skills necessary to prevent future episodes of family harm.
Whangaia Kete Values:
Kanohi ki te kanohi
· To be present and seen in the engagement with whānau, and vice versa.
Manaakitanga
· To support and uphold the mana of whānau to their highest regard.
Te Whakakoha Rangatiratanga
· Be respectful in the relationships we are building, with a recognition that successful relationships require a conscious effort.
Tino Rangatiratanga
· Have absolute integrity while supporting whānau.
