Korero mo te turanga - About the role:
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Kaiarahi, one full-time position available, Gisborne or East Coast based with the ability to travel across the Ngati Porou rohe as and when required.
The Kaiarahi conducts prevention activities to prevent harm and injury and promote whanau wellbeing safe practices in all aspects of their life. The Kaiarahi will put tamariki and Rangatahi at the centre to help them to flourish within the context of their whanau and whakapapa.
The Kaiarahi is pivotal to the development and establishment of future long term, high functioning, sustainable system wide delivery of ACC prevention services on the East Coast. This will require system improvement, re-design and change of ACC process of access and education for our East Coast people.
This role will have a strong focus on marae-based activities and hui and home visiting with whanau and mokopuna, where necessary provide support to access medical or other specialists to help with treatment, healing, resourcing and wellbeing.

Nga pukenga me nga wheako - Educational Qualifications, Essential Skills & Experience:
· Proven work history in ACC, health, education, or social services field of at least 3 years.
· A proven professional competence in any of the above industries.
· Experienced in tikanga and kawa when visiting whanau homes.
· Strong professional community networks.
· Strong Ngati Porou connections within whanau and hapu.
· Has experience in development of new systems.
· Has ability to analyse and present findings of work studies.
· Proficient with digital administration and case noting. Intermediate level of technical skill using the Microsoft Office Suite etc.
· Strong understanding of punctual time management and presentation skills.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
· A team player with self-motivation and initiative.
· High level of time management skills.
· High level of organisational skills.
· Able to establish a good rapport with people.
· Proficient computing skills.
