Whakaora Koti is an initiative rooted in the principles of whānau-centric support, spearheaded by Ngāti Porou Oranga.
This program is designed to assist whānau navigating the complexities of the court system, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are addressed in a culturally sensitive and respectful manner.
The core mission of Whakaora Koti is to empower whānau within the justice system, providing them with the tools and support necessary to take responsibility for the care and wellbeing of their members.

Whānau-Centric Approach
· The program places whānau at the center of its initiatives, acknowledging the importance of family and community in the healing and rehabilitation process.
Support Through Court Processes
· Whakaora Koti offers guidance and assistance to whānau as they navigate the court system, ensuring they understand the proceedings and can effectively participate.
Voice of the Whānau
· The initiative prioritizes the voices and perspectives of whānau, making sure their needs and concerns are heard and addressed by the justice system.

Our Kaiāwhina and Kaiārahi can help you:
· Understand the language, processes, and outcomes of court proceedings
· Where appropriate, access out-of-court services and support in the community remain engaged and involved with whanau
