Taiki Tangata strives to contribute to the achievement of the strategic goals and objectives of Ngāti Porou Oranga, specifically through promoting a proactive approach to well-being with a particular focus on a reduction in re-offending rates through the delivery of navigational and mentoring services to support participants (on short sentences and those on remand) and their whānau, through the transition from prison to the community.

Our kaiāwhina lead a co-ordinated approach to:

·     Develop and implement whānau plans.

·     Maintain and enhance quality whānau focus at alltimes.

·     Work with confidentiality and the right toprivacy.

·     Maintain active working relationships between providers, communities, and whānau, hapū, and iwi to strengthen a whānau centred approach, so whānau achieve their dreams and aspirations.
