Our goal within the Manaaki space is to see whānau thriving and achieving mana motuhake. Manaaki Kaiāwhina will support this by placing the voices of whānau at the heart of everything they do. They will work together with whānau to bring light to the unique needs and concerns whānau are voicing, as well as challenge the system barriers that are preventing whānau from receiving and/or engaging the best and most appropriate support.

Manaaki Kaiāwhina will gain consent from whānau and work alongside them in a flexible, purposeful, and whānau led way. With whānau voice in mind and a whatever it takes approach, Manaaki Kaiāwhina will deliver support to as well as pull for support from agencies, organisations, and communities to ensure the mana and integrity of whānau is preserved and their voices are heard.

There is no specific entry criteria - our kaiāwhina engage with whānau who are voicing the need for support, whether they are currently involved with another Ngāti Porou Oranga service or not.
